This is the version of Isaiah 40 that is indelibly written on my soul; it’s to a tune written in the 16th century in Geneva  for precisely that reason:  find  or compose a catchy tune that will marry with the words of Scripture, so that the ordinary person can, without even trying, learn Scripture by heart.  It worked for me! These words from the prophet Isaiah are inextricably linked with this tune.  This version, by the Ignatian Schola is beautiful,  and enhanced with powerful images which bring the  ancient words and music to contemporary life. Enjoy!

(Oh, you’ll get a chance to sing it tomorrow at Cedar Park if you join us for worship!)
